My mom's cousins are way awesome in SO many ways. I could go on and on about them because they are some of our best friends, but for now let me just mention one activity that we have been able to join them for.
TURKEY SHOOT!
Last year's turkey shoot was our first time joining them, and this year we went again (sans Will since he was somewhere in New Mexico with all our belongings). The rules are:
1. Fashion a turkey out of a paper plate and construction paper.
2. Prop turkey on a hill.
3. Shoot at it to get points.
The results?
Not too bad, right? The gobble is worth the most points and it goes out from there. We loved joining the whole group for their turkey shoot day.
Don't know if you can tell, but Emerson's jacket is a hunting jacket and it says "Beware of Moose" and has all sorts of cute hunting stuff on it. It was a hand-me-down from someone and, while I can't remember who it came from, I thank you a million times over because it was perfect for this very occasion.
All of the boys and
This littlest boy thought that this was a beach and just wanted to head towards the water. Last year, the water was up high, almost right near where we were shooting, but this year it was super low. Here is Emerson traipsing through the mud to get closer to the water.
The shoot spilled into Emerson's nap time so I snapped a few pics of him cuddling whomever he possibly could...
And now, some more shooting pictures, because who doesn't like those? #gunsareawesome
All in all, we love this tradition that they keep and are so thankful for great family in our lives.
*As another sidenote, I recently got a new phone con data plan which means I now have joined the Instagram folks. Follow me at creamandsugarbri (because I love cream and sugar, not because I drink coffee :)).
I don't know how to use a gun at all, but that's a cute idea.
