We all know that only when we
lose something do we realize how much we need it. Well I’m currently relearning that
lesson. After we moved to Biloxi, I
stayed for a week to get everything settled and then promptly hauled my bum (& Emerson’s)
back to Utah to work for an unknown amount of time. I’m only here until we get our student loans
all squared away, but I’m telling you, it ain’t fun.
The plan is to go back on March 3. After being without Will for 3.57
(yes, that’s correct) weeks and having ANOTHER 3.57 weeks to go, I can attest
that long-distance marriage just plain stinks.
Today is halfway.
25 days down, 25 more to go.
I’m considering making a chain out of construction paper.
Before this stint we had only
been apart for a total of three (3) nights; one when he flew to Utah for a
graduate school interview, and the other two when he drove to Biloxi and I stayed
back to fly with E. I know - we’ve been
completely spoiled, right? I’m thinking
that after this I’m never going to leave him again. At least for nothing even close to 50
days. That’s just madness.
We miss him. He misses us.
We can’t wait to be reunited as a family.
In other news, I'm happy to report that the lights in my closet
that were creeping me out are not monster eyeballs. They're just
Emerson's new glow-in-the-dark spaceman jammies. And it only took a few
minutes of rummaging through my memory to remember them in there. I didn’t even have to leave the covers.
Boo-ya.
Finally, here's a little treasure for you. I'm sure I'll get E's disapproval a few years from now, but for now enjoy the goodness that is static electricity:
50 days = way too long! I'm glad you've reached the 1/2 way point though, I'm sure the first half is the hardest :(
ReplyDeleteUgh, that STINKS! Way to go though, you are tough. I love that the monster eyeballs were just jammies! :)
ReplyDeleteSo grateful for all of your updates! Congratulations on halfway! Hopefully the last half will just fly by! You'll definitely appreciate you relationship more after this experience!
