The air conditioning died at work yesterday afternoon. If I had a chocolate chip for every complaint I've heard about the matter so far, I'd have enough to make a good-sized batch of chocolate chip cookies. And that's only the main floor. I can't even imagine how many batches of cookies I could make if the upstairs and basement had no A/C as well.
All the doors are open and fans are on everywhere. Everyone keeps asking when the A/C guy will get here. People have threatened to leave early because it's so hot. Some have been comparing our building to a Chinese sweatshop. Others want us to spring for popsicles and drinks and go buy more fans. I just checked the thermometer in our office:
75 degrees.
Wow. Seriously people? Are you so spoiled that you can't survive one day without air conditioning? The A/C will be fixed this afternoon. I don't consider 75 degrees indoors roasting by any means. Yes, it's warm, but suffocating working conditions? Not even close. Anyone else with me? Or am I the crazy one here?
Haha! My parents keep their house in Texas at 82 degrees :) and it feels so good when you walk into that 82 degree house from the 105 degree weather outside!
ReplyDeleteI agree. That's sad that we, as a society, feel entitled to have everything "perfect" including the temperature. Complaining co-workers drove me nuts!
