Pet Peeve

In all the get-to-know-you games that we play that are supposed to be fun but are really just awkward and embarrassing events, I always say that my pet peeve is when I get a peanut M&M that doesn't have a peanut.  That really is a big pet peeve of mine, but it's my default because I can't think of anything better when confronted with the question.

Today I came up with another pet peeve.  I can't stand it when people complain about the not-summery weather while it's still spring.  Don't people know how spring is supposed to go?  Spring is allowed to have moments of weakness which produce drizzles and occasionally even snow.  That's why it's spring - it's neither summer nor winter.  I'm annoyed when people consistently complain every time they even see a raincloud or anything not bright and sunny.  I'm not a fan of winter, in fact, I live for the sun; but I'll patiently wait for summer to arrive instead of wishing away spring.

Go ahead, Spring.  Rain on.

  1. Amen! I couldn't agree more. Actually, it really bothers me because I don't like Winter and I don't like Summer--I like Spring and Fall (neither of which lasts long enough in Utah) so when everyone immediately starts complaining about the spring weather and that they want the summer here faster it makes me want to scream! We can't change the weather we may as well not complain about it all the time and just suck it up. Whew! Apparently I needed to get that off my chest :)

  2. ps--that cracks me up that your pet peeve is that you don't get a peanut in the M&M :) I love that.

  3. Thank you. I could go on and on about this shared peeve of ours. Suffice it to say, my usual comeback for complainers is, "Well, I like to have water to drink come summer." I know that is a dumb comeback, but it allows me to say something more tame than, "It's still winter or spring, you jerk, quit complaining!"...cuz I don't usually talk like that to people.
